OCA Global joins INTERPORC in celebrating its 10 years of life

On June 20, the Interprofessional Agri-Food Organization of White-Capped Swine organized the celebration of its 10 years at the service of the Spanish White-Capped Swine sector. In response to the invitation of INTERPORC, OCA Global was represented by David Fernandez (Animal Welfare Certification Technician) and Jaime Forment (Farm Manager). This great event held in Madrid, was attended by the most important personalities of the Spanish White Coat Pig sector, among them, the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, Luis Planas, who highlighted the excellent work done by INTERPORC in this decade of existence.

From OCA Global we want to express our most sincere congratulations to INTERPORC for these 10 years of trajectory and encourage the interprofessional to continue working in the same line, promoting animal welfare and sustainability in search of modernization and internationalization of the sector.

OCA Global continues betting in a firm way by the referential of certification INTERPORC ANIMAL WELFARE SPAIN. Technical regulation of animal welfare and biosecurity that ensures compliance with the five principles of animal welfare established by the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE):

• Animals free from hunger, thirst and malnutrition.
• Animals free from fear and distress
• Animals free from physical or thermal discomfort.
• Animals free from pain, injury or disease
• Animals free to express their own behavioral patterns.

This 2023 is being a year of changes in the animal welfare certification sector managed by the interprofessionals.

• At the beginning of the year, the Animal Welfare Commitment B+ seal was launched, unifying the image of the animal welfare standards owned by the various interprofessionals (INTERPORC, ASICI, PROVACUNO, INTEROVIC, AVIANZA, INTERCUN).
• A new version of the IAWS (INTERPORC) has recently been published, which modernizes the regulation and adapts it to new legislation. OCA Global is committed to Animal Welfare certification as a tool for the modernization and sustainability of the Spanish agri-food sector, and therefore has a team trained and specialized in the certification of animal welfare in all types of species.
