UNE 14006 Ecodesign Management

What is it?

All products and services have an environmental impact at each stage of their life cycle, from their preparation to their elimination or end of cycle, and experience shows that most of the impact is a consequence of their design. This is where the UNE 14006 standard comes into play, which is also known as Ecodesign Management – understanding ecodesign as the methodology that integrates environmental criteria in the design of products and services, it achieves a reduction in the environmental impact that these products produce on their life cycle, always improving their quality and functionality.

In other words, the Ecodesign Management tries to identify, control, and continuously improve the environmental aspects of the products and services throughout their life cycle to progressively adapt to technique advances.

Who is it for?

The Ecodesign Management certification is applicable to any sector where products or services are designed, although this certification is ideal for companies that deal with administrations, as they must comply with EU's design policies.

On the other hand, it will also have great interest for large production centres and companies that have a very high percentage of international clients, since without compliance with this standard it is practically impossible to commercialise at a European level.
